While we are already enjoying some of the best releases of 2016, we are also waiting for some highly anticipated albums!
The Green Day
Bon Iver: 22, A Million
After taking the world by storm with his blend of minimalistic indie folk, Bon Iver revolutionized his sound and defied all expectations. His upcoming album is about to hit the world with an unpredictable blend of folk ,electronica and rock music that is bound to re-define the sound of Justin Vernon’s project in a truly special way.
Metallica
Fans have been waiting for a new Metallica release since their 2008 effort, “Death Magnetic”. The legendary American heavy band surprised everyone with the release of “Hardwire”, a banging new single from their upcoming studio LP, “Hardwired…To self-destruct”, which will be released on November 18th.
Green Day
Pop-punk legends set out to reach incredible commercial heights, going where very few punk bands managed to go. The Californian trio set out to fill arena stages all around the world and release seminal albums such as Dookie and American Idiot. However, things have been falling on a flat line for the band in recent years, with lukewarm receptions for their recent underwhelming releases. Billie Joe Armstrong and company released a surprise new single, “Bang Bang”, hinting at a return to form with upcoming album “Revolution Radio”, which has left fans hoping for the band embracing their edgier side.
Blink 182
The seminal pop-punk trio recently released a brand new album titled “California”. The new record came out taking everyone by surprise after bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer-extraordinaire Travis Barker finally parted ways with guitarist Tom DeLonge, kicking him out of the band in a blur of very awkward drama. Thankfully for fans, the very capable Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio) is now at the helm, helping Blink tap into their sound in a way that is nostalgic, yet forward-thinking at the same time.
